The Venture Capital Investment Practicum (VCIP)
The cornerstone of the student experience is the Propel Venture Capital Investment Practicum (VCIP), an educational workshop series launching in Fall 2025. Delivered by Smeal staff, faculty, and industry experts, the VCIP provides a deep dive into the principles of venture investing. Student participants will work in teams to evaluate a pre-filtered group of startups. Student responsibilities will include observing founder pitches, conducting due diligence and market research, and preparing and presenting formal investment recommendations to the Seed Fund’s leadership and alumni supporters.
